Affiliate Professor – Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Labs

About the role

The College of Chemical Sciences & Engineering at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks an Affiliate Professor to join its Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Laboratories. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality teaching for the Integrated Preparatory Cycle and supporting laboratory‑based learning for engineering students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach general, organic, physical and crystal chemistry, including associated laboratory sessions.
• Set up, operate and maintain chemistry and chemical‑engineering teaching laboratories, ensuring safety and quality protocols.
• Supervise experimental components of integrative and design projects for preparatory and engineering cycles.
• Design and deliver modules using active learning methods such as blended learning, project‑based learning and challenge‑based learning.
• Lead design projects from problem framing to final defence, providing mentorship and tutoring.
• Prepare, invigilate and grade examinations and continuous assessments.
• Contribute to pedagogical committees, examination boards and develop teaching materials (problem sets, case studies, lab protocols, project briefs).

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in university‑level teaching of chemistry subjects.
• Proven ability to manage and maintain teaching laboratories safely.
• Familiarity with active learning pedagogies and project‑based supervision.
• Strong commitment to student support and academic excellence.
