Early Years Teacher (EYFS)

About the role

The Early Years Teacher will deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to children aged 3-5 in a vibrant, play‑based environment. You will nurture each child's academic, social and emotional development while preparing them for transition to Year 1.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver EYFS lessons across the seven areas of learning, using enquiry‑led and play‑based methods.
• Create a safe, stimulating classroom and adapt teaching strategies for SEN and EAL learners.
• Assess and record progress using the EYFS Profile and maintain accurate safeguarding records.
• Manage teaching assistants, organise classroom resources and collaborate with EYFS colleagues on curriculum planning.
• Build strong relationships with parents through meetings and reports, and support school events.
• Engage in continuous professional development, appraisal processes and relevant training.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent) with EYFS specialism.
• Proven experience teaching EYFS, preferably within a British or international school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, its seven areas of learning and assessment practices.
• Clean enhanced background check or willingness to obtain one.
• Genuine warmth for young children, excellent communication skills and effective classroom management.
