Investment Associate – Project Development Fund

About the role

Africa50 is seeking an Investment Associate to support the evaluation, structuring and execution of transport and ICT infrastructure investments across Africa. The role sits within the Project Development team and works from opportunity screening through to financing and financial close.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pipeline intelligence through sector, country, sponsor and policy research.
• Build and maintain project‑finance models and support investment structuring for PPPs, concessions and equity investments.
• Manage diligence workstreams, review transaction documentation and prepare investment materials.
• Support debt and equity mobilisation, negotiations and engagement with lenders, DFIs, investors and public‑sector counterparts.
• Monitor development plans, budgets, approvals, conditions precedent and transaction timelines.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of experience in transport or digital infrastructure development, project finance, PPP or concession advisory, private equity, a DFI or investment banking.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, law or a related field; MBA, MSc or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent English; French, Portuguese or another African language is an advantage.
