Lead Secondary Design Engineer - HV Substation

About the role

The Control & Protection Design Engineer is the technical guarantor of proper performance of design works, ensuring budget, deadline and quality while promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance of high‑voltage substations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure design reliability, efficiency and compliance with industry and protection standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, support project documentation and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead and support the team designing control, protection, electrical distribution, telecom and monitoring systems for HV substations.
• Produce single‑line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection schemes, electrical consumption studies and auxiliary service designs.
• Manage interlocking, communication and network integration across the substation.
• Oversee commissioning and testing of low‑voltage systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of high‑voltage design engineering experience in transmission, distribution or HV substation projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% within the Middle East, Africa, Europe and other regions.
• Strong oral and written proficiency in English.
