Plant Director - Tangiers

About the role

The Bel Group, a major food company with brands such as The Laughing Cow, Kiri, Babybel and Boursin, is looking for a Plant Director for its Tangiers site. You will have full responsibility for the site's overall performance, including the SMQCDE objectives (Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Environment), lead a large management team and act as Bel's main local representative. The role sits within the MENA geography and reports to Benoit MANCHERON.

Key responsibilities

• Health, safety and working conditions: ensure high standards for employees and contractors, promote prevention and continuous improvement, and work with employee representatives on HSE and working conditions.
• Industrial and operational performance: define and deploy the site's industrial strategy, guarantee excellence in production, maintenance, quality and supply chain, lead performance management with SMQCDE indicators, optimize productivity, reliability and capacity, and manage CAPEX, industrial master plans and major transformation projects.
• Quality and food safety: ensure compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory standards and promote a strong quality culture.
• People leadership and social dialogue: lead and develop a large, diverse workforce, maintain constructive social dialogue with employee representatives, anticipate labour relations, support skills development, succession planning and organizational change.
• Transformation and change management: lead digitalization, automation and new technologies, and contribute to Bel's global industrial programs.
• Local representation: represent Bel at site level and maintain relationships with local authorities, institutions and partners.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent, with strong experience in industrial operations.
• Proven leadership experience in an operations environment and a solid background in food, FMCG or process industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex organizations and drive transformation.
• Fluent in French and English; Arabic is a strong plus.
• International exposure is a strong asset.
