Project Buyer (M/F) – Purchasing Lead for Projects

About the role

The Project Buyer joins the project team to drive all purchasing activities throughout the project lifecycle, from initial sourcing to project closure. Working closely with the Project Manager, the buyer ensures that sourcing plans, RFQs, auctions and supplier engagements meet quality, cost and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project meetings and lead purchasing tasks such as NPA, PRKF, sourcing plan, PSC, PMC, IAR, TOGO, FDPR, ISVA and SOP.
• Support the Project Manager in preparing sourcing plans, defining commitments, and managing pre‑SoCo (RFQ) and SoCo (award) processes.
• Select supplier bid‑lists, assess critical parts, and coordinate supplier design reviews to capture improvements and ensure compliance with Valeo requirements.
• Use PuMa and SAP to run RFQ processes, manage auctions (live or online), and keep sourcing milestones up to date.
• Evaluate supplier risks (capacity, quality, financial stability) and propose mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with commodity and productivity buyers to identify bundling opportunities and forecast purchasing indices.
• Ensure proper documentation storage in PuMa and creation of early open orders in SAP.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project‑oriented purchasing or procurement within an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of sourcing plans, RFQ management, and auction processes.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, assess supplier risks and drive mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with project documentation and communication flows between project teams and suppliers.
