Senior Accounting Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Accounting Coordinator will ensure accurate and timely delivery of accounting, tax, budgeting, control and procurement outcomes for Africa50. The role involves preparing IFRS and statutory accounts, cost analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for the organization’s investment vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate financial accounting, reporting and operations of third‑party pooled investment funds, ensuring IFRS compliance and best‑practice fund accounting.
• Manage Net Asset Value calculations, capital calls, distributions and investor reporting, working closely with investment teams.
• Implement internal controls, prepare monthly financial KPIs and ensure tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Oversee procurement policy implementation and related internal controls.
• Maintain robust accounting processes for private‑equity, project investments and pooled fund structures, including cash‑flow management and treasury statements.
• Coordinate external audits, financial statement preparation and investor allocations, waterfall calculations and capital‑account reconciliations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of finance experience in a private‑equity environment, with at least 4 years in a senior management role.
• Chartered Accountant qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, etc.) and a master’s degree in finance or a related discipline.
• Proven expertise in NAV calculations, fund administration and pooled investment vehicles.
