Senior Full Stack Engineer – AI / LLM

About the role

Smartly.ai is looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to help build its AI‑driven platform. You will work on high‑performance backend services and integrate generative AI models to enable Retrieval‑Augmented Generation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Node.js/TypeScript microservices.
• Implement and optimise RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption.
• Build and fine‑tune generative AI pipelines, including RAG and LLM API integrations (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini).
• Manage data storage and search layers using MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• Containerise applications with Docker and ensure robust CI/CD workflows.
• Set up logging, monitoring and alerting to guarantee service reliability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus.
• Passion for AI and experience delivering complex, production‑grade systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote‑first environment and collaborate across a distributed team.
