Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and support geotechnical engineering projects across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and environmental projects. The role combines technical expertise, project management and mentorship, contributing to complex multidisciplinary designs while expanding our geotechnical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects from planning through design and construction.
• Plan and oversee drilling programs, subsurface investigations and evaluations.
• Design shallow and deep foundations, slope stability and earth retention systems.
• Perform geotechnical modeling, including seepage, slope stability and pile analysis (vertical and lateral).
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations and construction documents ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure and environmental projects.
• Support client engagement and business development to grow the geotechnical practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (CT, MA, or RI) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proven track record delivering geotechnical services on infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, communication and client management abilities.

Required skills

• Geotechnical modeling and analysis tools.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• AutoCAD.
