Senior IT OT Engineer

About the role

APM Terminals is looking for a highly skilled Senior IT/OT Engineer to lead the implementation, integration, operation and continuous improvement of IT/OT technologies within a terminal environment. You will act as a trusted technology partner to Operations, Engineering, Automation and other business stakeholders, translating operational needs into secure, resilient and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the IT/OT technology landscape for the assigned terminal, ensuring alignment with global standards.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering and Automation teams to design and deliver effective IT/OT solutions.
• Plan and execute upgrades, enhancements, lifecycle refreshes and technology changes while minimizing disruption to critical terminal operations.
• Maintain the integrity, availability, resilience, security and interoperability of all IT/OT systems and subsystems.
• Lead incident, problem and root‑cause management, delivering timely resolutions within agreed SLAs.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost system reliability, operational efficiency and user experience.
• Lead and support Level 1 and Level 2 IT/OT engineering and shift teams, ensuring strong technical capability and service quality.
• Identify obsolescence, capacity constraints and modernization opportunities to optimize technology investments.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with strong business orientation and technical leadership experience.
• Proven ability to work closely with operational stakeholders and translate business priorities into technology solutions.
• Experience managing complex IT/OT environments in industrial or terminal settings.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
