Test Automation Engineer – CAPL / Python / CANoe

About the role

Micla Engineering & Design is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to develop and maintain automated test suites and frameworks for one of the world’s largest carmakers. The role focuses on building automation rather than manual testing, supporting validation activities in automotive software development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test suites and the underlying automation framework.
• Build and deploy CANoe simulations using CAPL scripting.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with proper result handling and reporting.
• Support test bench setup and verify bench readiness for validation teams.
• Perform measurements, timing analysis and root‑cause analysis on failures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in a relevant technical field.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Availability to work onsite at test facilities.

Required skills

• Strong scripting in Python and/or CAPL.
• Hands‑on experience with CANoe or CANalyzer.
• Experience with Git and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of automotive networks and E/E architecture.
• Familiarity with test authoring tools such as vTESTstudio, TPT, TestGuide.
• Knowledge of timing measurement tools (GLIWA, dSPACE).
• Awareness of AUTOSAR Classic.
• Experience with debugging on virtual and real targets.
• Knowledge of Bash, CMake, unit test frameworks (Google Test).
