Novancy, a leading staffing and recruitment consultancy specializing in Information Systems and Digital Transformation, is seeking an experienced Head of Data to spearhead its data strategy in Casablanca, Morocco. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive data vision that encompasses governance, architecture, analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), as well as expertise in data quality, security, and regulatory compliance, particularly GDPR.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring cross-functional data teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
• Collaborating with senior leadership to align data projects with strategic business priorities and ensure that data initiatives deliver measurable value.
• Establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and security protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Identifying and evaluating technology partnerships and tools that enhance data capabilities, such as Big Data platforms, cloud services, and emerging AI/ML solutions.
• Driving a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization, promoting best practices in DataOps and MLops.

The ideal profile brings:

• At least 10 years of experience in data management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• A strong technical background in data engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies.
• Proven experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, especially GDPR.
• Strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
