Novancy, a leading staffing and talent recruitment firm specializing in Information Systems and Digital Transformation, is seeking a Head of Data Strategy to spearhead its data initiatives in Casablanca, Morocco. This senior leadership position will be responsible for defining and implementing the company’s data vision, encompassing governance, architecture, analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with GDPR and other regulatory frameworks.
• Architect end-to-end data solutions, selecting appropriate technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to meet business needs.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary data team, including data engineers, data scientists, and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align data projects with strategic business priorities, translating complex data insights into actionable business decisions.
• Identify and evaluate emerging data technologies and tools, proposing innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities and maintain competitive advantage.
• Oversee data quality initiatives, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable data across all systems.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring delivery of high-quality services.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of legal frameworks such as GDPR and best practices in DataOps and MLops.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate data strategy into operational plans.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in data-mature industries and a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions.
