As the Head of Data Strategy at Novancy, you will be the architect of our data ecosystem, responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive data vision that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives. Your role will encompass the following core responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Vision
• Develop and communicate a forward‑looking data strategy that supports business growth and innovation.
• Champion data governance, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities across the organization.
Team Management and Development
• Lead a multidisciplinary data team, including data engineers, data scientists, and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to build a high‑performing data workforce.
• Establish clear performance metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of data initiatives.
Project Oversight and Delivery
• Prioritize and manage data projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource availability.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ensure robust data architecture that supports scalability, reliability, and real‑time analytics.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with executive leadership to translate business challenges into data solutions.
• Communicate complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, facilitating data‑driven decision making.
• Build relationships with external vendors and technology partners to stay ahead of industry trends.
Compliance and Risk Management
• Implement data protection measures and ensure compliance with GDPR, data privacy laws, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Stay abreast of emerging data technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Champion the adoption of DataOps and MLops practices to streamline data workflows and accelerate delivery cycles.
• Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation within the data team.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of legal frameworks such as GDPR and best practices in DataOps and MLops.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
