Role Overview

The Head of Data will be based in Casablanca and will be responsible for defining and executing a holistic data vision that spans governance, architecture, analytics, and artificial intelligence. This strategic role will align data initiatives with business objectives, ensuring that data-driven insights propel decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy, including governance frameworks, data architecture, analytics pipelines, and AI initiatives.
• Lead cross‑functional data teams comprising data engineers, data scientists, and analytics specialists.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security, implementing best practices for data governance.
• Maintain compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements, establishing robust data protection protocols.
• Forge strategic partnerships with technology vendors and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to support Big Data and analytics capabilities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable strategies and measurable outcomes.
• Champion a culture of data literacy and data‑driven decision making across all levels of the organization.

Required Experience and Skills

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, engineering, and analytics.

• Proven expertise in Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Strong knowledge of data governance, GDPR compliance, DataOps, and MLops practices.

• Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling data teams, with a track record of delivering high‑impact analytics solutions.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating complex data concepts into business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
