Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineering Lead to join our rapidly growing tech startup, z.systems, headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco. The role is a full‑time, on‑site position (OS) under a CDI contract. You will be responsible for leading the backend engineering team, designing and implementing scalable transactional systems, and integrating gamification engines to enhance user engagement across our B2B2C retail platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the backend engineering team, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Architect and design scalable, high‑throughput transactional systems that support millions of daily transactions.
- Develop and maintain gamification engines that drive user engagement and retention.
- Ensure system reliability, security, and performance through rigorous testing, code reviews, and monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Conduct design sessions and code reviews to uphold best practices and maintain code quality.
- Stay current with emerging technologies such as Node.js, Express, Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL, and AWS, and evaluate their applicability to our platform.
Required Experience
- 6 to 9 years of experience in backend engineering and technical leadership.
- Proven track record of designing and scaling transactional systems in a production environment.
- Experience with gamification engines and systems.
- Strong knowledge of system reliability, security, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with code review processes, design sessions, and DevOps collaboration.
