JESA Advisory & Digital Solutions, a leading management consulting business unit of JESA, is expanding its portfolio by launching a dedicated Financial Advisory practice. This new practice is designed to bridge the gap between project identification and financial close, ensuring bankability, structuring, and partner engagement for large‑scale industrial, energy, mining, and infrastructure projects across Africa and beyond. The Senior Financial Advisory Consultant will play a pivotal role in this expansion, working closely with senior stakeholders, clients, and development finance institutions (DFIs) to deliver tailored financial solutions.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Sector and Market Analysis: Conduct in‑depth analyses of the mining, energy, infrastructure, and industrial ecosystems to identify investment opportunities and assess market dynamics.
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain sophisticated financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), mergers & acquisitions (M&A), public‑private partnership (PPP) structures, and project finance models. These models will support feasibility studies, bankability assessments, and investment decision‑making.
- Feasibility and Bankability Assessments: Evaluate project viability through rigorous financial, commercial, and ESG due diligence. Perform tariff modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning to ensure projects meet the stringent criteria of DFIs and sovereign investors.
- Investment Memoranda and Presentations: Draft clear, concise investment memoranda, teasers, and pitch decks for clients, investors, and DFIs. These documents will articulate the value proposition, risk profile, and financial returns of each project.
- Transaction Support: Assist in the execution of financing transactions, including debt raising, refinancing, and partner negotiations. Coordinate with legal, tax, and technical advisors to structure deals that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive database of sector projects, DFI tenders, and client portfolios. Ensure data accuracy and accessibility for cross‑functional teams.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3–5 years of experience in financial advisory, investment banking, Big 4 transaction advisory, or infrastructure/project finance.
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering from a Tier 1 university.
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills, with proficiency in DCF, M&A, PPP, and project finance structures.
- Exposure to PPP/concession agreements, EPC/O&M contracts, and DFI funding instruments is a plus.
- Fluency in English and French; Arabic is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Personal attributes that align with JESA’s culture include a passion for Africa’s development, a forward‑looking mindset, curiosity, openness, collaboration, adaptability, and a proactive, can‑do attitude. The role offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact, strategic projects that shape the future of Africa and the MENA region, while benefiting from a supportive learning environment, clear career progression, and a vibrant team culture.
Benefits and growth opportunities include:
- High‑impact strategic projects that shape the future of Africa and the region.
- Rapid learning and deep expertise in key industries and strategic themes.
- Clear career path within JESA ADS and across the broader JESA Group.
- Strong focus on teamwork, community, and professional development through mentoring, training, and international conferences.
