Indirect Business Leader – Africa

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive growth of its indirect business across Africa. The role focuses on closing coverage gaps, strengthening market presence, and delivering disciplined execution in tender‑driven, price‑sensitive environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue growth, market share expansion and portfolio rollout across North and Central Africa.
• Build and govern a strong local presence, leading tender planning, execution and post‑tender performance.
• Ensure pricing discipline, portfolio prioritisation and capability uplift of distributors.
• Design a therapy‑focused organisational structure, recruit and develop leaders aligned to market needs.
• Implement a consistent operating model, including distributor reviews, KOL strategy and marketing activation.
• Partner with Marketing, Finance and HR to sustain scalable growth.
• Provide senior commercial leadership, set standards and develop a succession pipeline for the region.

Required profile

• 12+ years of senior commercial leadership in emerging or developing markets.
• Proven experience in Africa or similarly complex regions.
• Strong exposure to tender‑driven healthcare markets and indirect/distributor models.
• Hands‑on execution mindset with ability to balance growth, compliance and risk.
• High cultural intelligence, resilience and ability to lead through complexity.
