Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (Oncology) will act as the scientific bridge between AstraZeneca and the oncology community. You will spend the majority of your time engaging key external experts (KEEs) and healthcare professionals to share balanced, compliant scientific information.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate 70% of time to field activities, including 60% direct KEE/HCP interactions and 10% preparation.
• Develop and execute KEE engagement plans with pre‑call objectives, discussion points and data sharing.
• Provide scientific updates, contextualize new data, and support CME activities and advisory boards.
• Facilitate local research projects, monitor competitor intelligence and support formulary discussions.
• Ensure full compliance with AZ Codes of Conduct, Ethical Interactions, GPEI, SOPs and the Global MSL Guide.

Required profile

• 2–3 years external Medical Affairs experience (oncology preferred) or 3–5 years internal AstraZeneca experience.
• Advanced scientific degree in life sciences; MD or PharmD preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Valid driving licence, availability for business travel and English fluency.
• No disciplinary actions in the past year.
