Professor of Interfaces and Colloids (Sustainable Materials)

About the role

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SUSMAT‑RC) at UM6P is seeking a faculty member to lead research in interfaces and colloids within green chemistry and chemical engineering. The successful candidate will design and execute applied projects on biobased monomers, polymers and materials, and contribute to teaching at the Master and PhD levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Interface and Colloid Science within SUSMAT‑RC, including research planning, execution and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop sustainable material concepts and move innovations through TRL 3‑9 toward commercialization.
• Design and teach advanced courses on interfacial chemistry, emulsions and colloids for graduate students.
• Supervise graduate students and post‑doctoral fellows, and contribute to manuscript, patent and proposal writing.
• Assist in the management and administration of the research centre, including literature analysis and proposal coordination.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Colloids and Interfaces, Soft Matter or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of post‑doctoral or professional experience with recognized expertise in colloids and interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and maintain applied research programmes and to teach graduate‑level courses.
