Temporary High School English Teacher (Grades 9‑12)

About the role

This is a temporary, full‑time position covering an English/Language Arts teacher from 22 August to 31 October. You will teach high‑school students in grades 9‑12 within an American‑curriculum environment, delivering engaging, student‑centered lessons that develop critical thinking, reading, writing, and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English/Language Arts lessons aligned with the school’s course guide and standards‑based curriculum.
• Support the development of students’ writing abilities through explicit instruction and consistent practice.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance student learning and contribute to a positive school community.
• Maintain awareness of child‑protection policies and uphold them in daily interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience teaching English, Language Arts, Literature, or Humanities at the secondary level.
• Valid secondary teaching license or certification in English/Language Arts.
• Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude toward student growth.

Required skills

• Experience with standards‑based curricula and explicit writing instruction methods such as The Writing Revolution.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborative structures.
