Application Engineer

About the role

Ecolab is looking for an Application Engineer to support its Heavy Division and work directly with major industrial clients in sectors such as mining, metals, energy, and manufacturing. The role combines field service, customer interaction, and technical problem‑solving to improve system performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine technical service support to sales teams for strategic heavy‑industry accounts.
• Conduct site assessments, equipment inspections, and operational surveys for prospective customers.
• Assist with commissioning and start‑up of new applications and industrial solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with plant managers, engineers, and operational leaders.
• Diagnose operational issues, analyze system performance, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and improvement plans.
• Support field activities such as sample testing, equipment checks, inventory management, and general service tasks.
• Follow Ecolab safety standards and incident reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of technical service or field support experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment and processes.
• Ability to communicate technical value to customers and influence decision‑making.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
