Assistant Professor – Atmospheric Aerosols Sciences

About the role

The African Research Center on Air Quality and Climate (ARC_AIR) at UM6P seeks an Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching in atmospheric aerosol sciences. The position involves establishing a dedicated laboratory, conducting experimental and modelling studies, and mentoring graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead independent research on atmospheric chemistry and aerosols, including field campaigns and laboratory experiments.
• Set up, operate, and maintain an aerosol chemistry laboratory and ensure harmonised measurement protocols with international partners.
• Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and present at international conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise PhD and post‑doctoral researchers, and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Atmospheric Science or a related field with strong publication record.
• International research experience outside Morocco and proven ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Demonstrated commitment to student mentorship and interactive teaching methods.

Required skills

• Experimental atmospheric chemistry (laboratory and field techniques).
• Aerosol sampling, chemical composition analysis, and remote sensing.
• Data integration with large atmospheric datasets and model development.
• Laboratory instrumentation setup and calibration.
