Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager in Fes, Morocco, covering restaurants, bars and room service where applicable. The role supports daily restaurant supervision, menu planning, sanitation standards and guest and employee satisfaction, and includes assisting servers and hosts during peak meal periods.

Key responsibilities

• Help manage the restaurant team: handle employee questions, monitor performance, give feedback and supervise daily shifts, including in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
• Ensure staff have supplies, equipment and uniforms, communicate food quality and service issues to the chef and manager, enforce policies and standards, and monitor alcohol service against local laws.
• Manage to meet or exceed budgeted goals and perform restaurant duties as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service: greet guests, collect feedback, handle complaints, supervise staffing levels and review comment cards with staff.
• Oversee ongoing training, coach and counsel employees and set performance expectations.
• Communicate with supervisors, colleagues and subordinates, analyse results to solve problems and assist servers and hosts during busy periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year accredited degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary or a related profession, or 2 years of experience with a degree.
