Bid and Costing Manager

About the role

Join Alstom in Fez as a Bid and Costing Manager, leading cost and pricing activities for rail transport tenders. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure competitive and financially sound proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quick costing during pre‑tender phases using product cost databases and project insights.
• Define cost structures, target costs and pricing strategies with bid and subsystem managers.
• Lead cost estimation activities and drive cost‑improvement initiatives to enhance competitiveness.
• Collaborate with Finance Tender Managers to optimise financial costs and overall bid competitiveness.
• Ensure accuracy of costing, perform variance analysis and risk assessments.
• Support project teams on costing aspects, including variation orders and cost reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Engineering or Business degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in cost estimation, value analysis or product costing.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to challenge cost commitments.
• Fluent in English with good communication and networking abilities.
• Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Experience with product cost databases and cost models.
• Knowledge of financial rules and contractual aspects such as bonds and guarantees.
• Ability to perform variance analysis, risk assessment and make‑or‑buy evaluations.
