Biostatistician

About the role

The Biosciences CoreLab at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a skilled Biostatistician to support statistical analysis of complex biological and omics data. You will collaborate with researchers, laboratory scientists, and bioinformaticians to ensure rigorous statistical methodology throughout the research lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide statistical support for biological and biomedical projects, including study design, sample‑size estimation, and analysis plan development.
• Analyze high‑dimensional omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) using appropriate statistical and computational methods.
• Develop, implement, and validate reproducible data‑analysis pipelines and statistical models.
• Generate clear visualisations, reports, and analytical summaries for interdisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and presentations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or related field (PhD preferred).
• At least two years of experience in biostatistics or biological data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies applied to biomedical research and omics data.
• Ability to communicate statistical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical programming with R and/or Python.
• Experience with statistical software, data‑visualisation tools, and reproducible research workflows.
