About the role

The Supermarket Department Manager ensures the smooth operation of a store aisle, from product supply to customer experience. Reporting to senior management, you will drive sales, maintain stock levels, and lead a team to deliver high standards of service and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Manage product supply, shelf stocking, cleanliness and signage while preventing stockouts.
• Set, monitor and adjust sales, margin and shrinkage targets for the department.
• Control deliveries, organise product rotations and take part in inventory counts.
• Conduct competitive price monitoring and update prices accordingly.
• Supervise, train and develop team members; organise schedules and manage leave requests.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist customers to enhance their purchasing experience.
• Implement promotional plans and commercial events (seasonal campaigns, special events).

Required profile

• Baccalaureate level education (or equivalent).
• Strong customer‑service orientation and results focus.
• Leadership ability and experience in team motivation.
• Rigorous, organized and adherence to procedures.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving skills.
• Adaptability and comfort with digital tools.
