Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Toronto

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to join the senior management team in Toronto. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will drive financial planning, risk management, and capital‑raising initiatives while overseeing finance, accounting, and related technology functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the company’s financial planning and forecasting processes.
• Perform risk management by analyzing liabilities and investment portfolios.
• Develop investment strategies while monitoring cash and liquidity risks.
• Control and evaluate fundraising plans and capital structure.
• Ensure appropriate cash flow for daily operations.
• Supervise finance personnel, including controllers and treasurers.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Prepare accurate current and forecast reports.
• Set up and oversee the finance IT system.
• Ensure compliance with legal and corporate policies.
• Lead a team of financial controllers and analysts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader.
• In‑depth knowledge of corporate financials and reporting.
• Strong expertise in data analysis and financial forecasting.
• Proficiency with MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP).
• Ability to devise and solve strategic financial problems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset comfortable with numbers.
• CPA designation is mandatory.
• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus.
