Clearance Officer – Import & Customs

About the role

Hikma Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Clearance Officer to manage import documentation and customs clearance for its pharmaceutical operations in Casablanca. The role ensures timely and compliant delivery of goods while supporting the company’s mission to improve access to medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit import documents (bill of lading, invoices, packing lists) ensuring accuracy.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shipping companies, freight forwarders and warehouses to track shipments.
• Manage customs clearance processes, including HS code classification, duties and taxes.
• Liaise with customs authorities to resolve issues or discrepancies.
• Maintain relationships with international suppliers and monitor delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and maintain records for audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in customs clearance or import operations, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is a strong advantage.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• International trade finance (letters of credit, CAD).
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international transport rules.
• HS code classification.
• Proficiency with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
