Commercial Property Accountant – Real Estate Finance

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Commercial Property Accountant to manage daily accounting functions for a privately held Canadian property management company. The role reports to the Corporate Controller and supports property managers with financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist property managers with all aspects of operations and accounting.
• Coordinate suppliers and service providers for property maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements, including budget variance analysis.
• Support monthly and year‑end financial reporting, analysis, and preparation of reporting packages and working papers.
• Maintain invoices and record accruals.
• Execute monthly reconciliations of key balance‑sheet accounts.
• Perform year‑end operating and realty tax tenant reconciliations.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong organizational skills, reliable, autonomous, and able to manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with QuickBooks (and Sage) accounting software.
