Controller – Financial Management for New Manufacturing Arm

About the role

This full‑time Controller will work directly with the CEO to build the financial framework for a newly created division of a Canadian manufacturing company. The role combines strategic planning, reporting, and team leadership in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly financial reporting package and annual audited consolidated statements.
• Develop forecasts, strategic plans, and lead budget preparation for all projects.
• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial data.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions, including payables, receivables, and banking.
• Monitor foreign‑exchange transactions and execute USD buy/sell as needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team as members are onboarded.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASPE, IFRS, internal controls, and regulatory policies.
• Stay current on tax regulations and government remittances.
• Collaborate with external auditors, banks, and professional service providers.

Required profile

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with at least 10 years of experience.
• Highly organized and able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong communication skills and relationship‑building ability.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
