Field Deployment Engineer

About the role

The Field Deployment Engineer is responsible for end‑to‑end deployment, installation, commissioning and sustainment of Harmattan AI’s autonomous defence systems at client sites. The role combines hardware assembly, software configuration and on‑site training to ensure system functionality and client autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Assess customer sites, identify prerequisites and installation constraints.
• Install, assemble, connect and bring up hardware components on‑site.
• Configure, parameterise and debug Linux‑based software for each operational context.
• Commission the full system, verify hardware‑software integration and obtain client sign‑off.
• Provide integration support with client environments and troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues.
• Train client operators, develop documentation and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of hands‑on field or technical experience in systems integration, test or manufacturing.
• Strong electromechanical aptitude: hardware assembly, electrical hookup and ability to read schematics.
• Solid networking fundamentals and safety‑critical mindset for austere environments.
• Excellent communication skills for training and coaching client personnel.
