Global Policy and Advocacy Advisor

About the role

The Global Policy and Advocacy Advisor will support Save the Children’s worldwide influencing agenda, shaping policy and advocacy across priority global issues. Working within a high‑profile, externally facing team, the role will help identify emerging policy trends, develop coherent strategies and ensure a unified voice in international forums.

Key responsibilities

• Draft policy papers, briefing notes, position papers and executive briefings on global issues and contexts.
• Design and implement strategic influencing plans for priority global issues, identifying engagement opportunities with governments, multilateral institutions and coalitions.
• Conduct policy analysis, stakeholder and power mapping, and coordinate advocacy activities across thematic areas.
• Provide governance and coordination support to global advocacy groups, collaborating with communications, monitoring and evaluation teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in global policy development, advocacy or strategic influencing within international development or humanitarian contexts.
• Ability to analyse emerging policy issues and ensure coherence across a global portfolio.
• Strong written communication skills for producing high‑level policy and advocacy products.
