HIL Test Engineer – Automotive Systems

About the role

Bertrandt is seeking an experienced HIL (Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop) Test Engineer to join its automotive engineering team. You will work on the development and validation of ECU test systems, supporting projects in digitalisation, e‑mobility and autonomous driving.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain HIL test setups using dSPACE platforms such as SCALEXIO, ConfigurationDesk, ControlDesk and AutomationDesk.
• Integrate ECUs, configure test benches and run real‑time simulations for validation of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Develop automated test scripts and tools, primarily in Python and MATLAB/Simulink, to support requirements‑based testing and defect management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and international teams, ensuring compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262 standards.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in HIL testing and test system development within the automotive industry.
• Excellent knowledge of dSPACE tools and platforms.
• Proven ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues and communicate results clearly.
• Familiarity with automotive development processes and standards is an advantage.
