HR & Payroll Officer

About the role

BIA Group, active in the sale, rental and after-sales service of equipment for public works, mines, quarries and transport, is looking for an HR & Payroll Officer to join its HR department. You will support the Shared Service Centre covering Human Resources, Payroll, Resource Planning and Expat Management, helping payroll operations run smoothly across several countries, mainly Africa and Belgium.

Key responsibilities

• Payroll: process payroll (data entry, benefits and deductions), update payroll records and ensure the payroll calendar deadlines are met
• Verify and reconcile payroll financial data, prepare bank payment instructions and send transfers and reports to the bank
• Issue salary advices to employees in all regions and support external auditors with rationale and documents
• Prepare monthly filings and financial and operational reports as needed
• Maintain employee data in SAP HR, keep personal files up to date and ensure contracts and job descriptions are current
• Handle onboarding, offboarding and induction, and provide HR reporting
• Other duties such as resource planning/project staffing and expat management

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent
• 4 to 5 years of experience in payroll and HR administration
• Fluent spoken and written French and English
• International payroll expertise is an advantage; African payroll experience is a plus

Required skills

• Knowledge of payroll software; exposure to Popay and SAP SuccessFactors is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to handle multiple payroll processes at once
• Integrity, analytical skills, attention to accuracy, planning and organising, teamwork and communication
