Laboratory & Diagnostic Officer

About the role

The Laboratory & Diagnostic Officer supports the STRIDES Morocco Activity by providing technical assistance for laboratory systems strengthening and diagnostic activities. Working under the guidance of the Senior Laboratory and Diagnostic Officer, the role contributes to the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of laboratory interventions aligned with Morocco's health priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in technical support for laboratory systems strengthening and diagnostic activities.
• Prepare documentation, logistics, and follow‑up materials for meetings with the Ministry of Health and other government partners.
• Develop and disseminate laboratory tools, guidelines, training materials, and SOPs.
• Maintain project protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals, and reports.
• Conduct literature searches on emerging laboratory and global health security issues.
• Provide quality control and assurance for laboratory outputs.
• Support work‑plan preparation, tracking, and reporting of activity progress.
• Assist with administrative and logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, and field visits.

Required profile

• Basic working knowledge of laboratory systems, biosafety, and quality management principles.
• Experience supporting technical teams and coordinating with government counterparts.
• Ability to compile technical content for reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
• Strong organizational skills for data collection and documentation.
