Legal Counsel (Global Programme Delivery)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its global legal team. The role will support the delivery of international programmes across 54 country offices and provide strategic legal advice to global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on legal risk and contractual matters for international programming operations across five regions.
• Provide legal guidance on procurement, awards, finance, HR, partnerships, transformation delivery, and fundraising.
• Support governance requirements for a global organisation.
• Lead specific contractual and legal‑risk projects and manage relationships with designated global teams.
• Oversee law‑firm pro‑bono relationships and internal training initiatives.
• Mentor and, where appropriate, line‑manage junior legal staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in providing legal advice to international NGOs or similar organisations.
• Strong expertise in complex commercial contracting, especially in transformation delivery or supply‑chain contexts.
• Ability to work across multiple regions and adapt to emergency or crisis situations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
