Legal Counsel

About the role

SITA is looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Borders Business Unit. The role sits at the intersection of law, technology and aviation, supporting innovative projects such as digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions and compliance. You will work closely with the Legal Director and act as the primary legal advisor for the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on AI, privacy, sanctions, compliance and public procurement matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, partnership agreements, consortia and joint‑venture documents.
• Manage relationships with local external counsel and regulatory authorities.
• Support strategic deals and industry partnerships across the Borders Business Unit.
• Advise on government engagements and public procurement processes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with the ability to work autonomously in one or more legal domains.
• Experience in digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions and compliance issues.
• Proven track record in public procurement and government relations.
• Strong ability to manage external counsel and engage with customers, suppliers and regulators.
• Experience in negotiating strategic partnerships, consortia and joint ventures.
