Legal Counsel

About the role

Dahua Technology, a world‑leading video‑centric smart IoT solution provider, is establishing a dedicated legal function for its North Africa markets. Based in Casablanca, the Legal Counsel will serve as the primary legal resource for Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, working closely with regional teams in Dubai and global legal affairs in China.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for distribution, supply and deployment of video surveillance products, while advising business teams on contractual risks in both common‑law and civil‑law contexts.
• Support corporate governance by maintaining legal records, corporate registrations and statutory filings, and conducting regulatory research affecting regional operations.
• Implement and monitor compliance programmes covering anti‑bribery, data privacy, competition law, labour regulations and product compliance, and deliver related training.
• Manage commercial disputes, litigation and arbitration, overseeing local external counsel and preparing litigation strategies for senior management.
• Act as a trusted legal advisor to business units, identifying and mitigating legal risks early, and liaising with regional and global legal affairs to ensure consistent standards.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB or LLM) from a recognised institution; admission to practice law in Egypt or another MENA jurisdiction is highly desirable.
• Minimum five years of post‑qualification experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably with a reputable law firm and exposure to technology or industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial distribution, supply and project agreements across multiple jurisdictions, especially civil‑law systems in Francophone North Africa.
• Fluent written and spoken Arabic and French, with professional‑level English; all three languages will be used daily.
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced, international, matrixed environment and willingness to travel occasionally.
