Legal Counsel (Program Delivery)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its global programme delivery. You will join a dynamic legal team, providing strategic advice across 54 country offices and multiple global functions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise country offices on legal risk related to programming, procurement, awards and finance across five regions.
• Lead legal support for global teams on policy changes, transformation delivery, HR, partnerships, finance and fundraising.
• Ensure governance compliance for a worldwide non‑profit organization.
• Manage contractual and legal risk projects, including high‑value supply‑chain agreements.
• Oversee relationships with specific global teams and external law firms, including pro‑bono arrangements.
• Provide mentorship and line‑management to junior legal staff.
• Support transformation delivery projects involving complex technology and process redesign, where applicable.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in international non‑profit or humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to handle multi‑jurisdictional legal issues and high‑value contracts.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to work under pressure, especially during emergencies.
