Manufacturing Engineer – Process Development & Automation

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Aptiv, you will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of automated testing and vision inspection systems for automotive production lines. You will apply Lean principles to improve equipment usage, cycle time, and overall process efficiency while ensuring safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, validate, and deploy automated testing and vision inspection systems for manufacturing lines.
• Develop testing methods for mechanical, electrical, and functional product validation.
• Optimize cycle time, accuracy, and reliability of testing and vision processes.
• Create preventive maintenance plans for testing and vision equipment.
• Specify, select, and validate equipment and software, collaborating with suppliers for integration.
• Train production and quality teams on equipment usage and troubleshooting.
• Ensure testing systems meet customer and internal requirements and support root‑cause analysis for quality issues.
• Maintain traceability of inspection and testing data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with testing systems, preferably including automation and machine vision.
• Knowledge of assembly technology and Lean manufacturing processes.
• Strong willingness to drive continuous improvement and present solutions.
