Model Based Design Engineer (Matlab/Simulink)

About the role

We are looking for a Model‑Based Design Engineer to join our automotive embedded‑software team in Morocco. The role focuses on developing, testing and integrating software for vehicle ECUs using Matlab/Simulink and Model‑Based Development techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain unit‑test suites for embedded software running on automotive ECUs.
• Integrate software components into ECU platforms and verify compatibility with hardware and vehicle networks.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of software defects, communication issues and ECU malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Develop and validate UDS diagnostic services, DTC handling and fault‑memory strategies.
• Analyse communication traces (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and support bench, HIL and in‑vehicle testing.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE and cybersecurity standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as SRS, SDD, design reviews and traceability matrices.
• Collaborate with testing teams to define validation strategies and achieve robust test coverage.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in Model‑Based Development for automotive applications.
• Strong project planning, risk management and technical coordination skills.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Matlab / Simulink and Model‑Based Design.
• Embedded C/C++ development for real‑time systems.
• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet.
• Diagnostic standards and tools: UDS (ISO 14229), ISO 15765, OBD‑II, Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive), ISO 26262 functional safety and ASPICE processes.
• Experience with ECU flashing, HIL testing and root‑cause analysis of logs and memory dumps.
