Model Based Design Engineer (Matlab/Simulink)

About the role

We are looking for a Model Based Design Engineer to join our automotive embedded software team. You will work on the development and validation of ECU software using Matlab/Simulink and ensure high‑quality integration with vehicle networks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain unit tests for embedded software on automotive ECUs.
• Integrate software components into ECU platforms and verify compatibility with hardware and network constraints.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of software defects, communication issues and ECU malfunctions using CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS, DoIP and vehicle logs.
• Develop and validate UDS diagnostic services, DTCs and fault memory strategies.
• Analyse communication traces (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) to detect anomalies.
• Support integration testing on benches, HIL systems and in‑vehicle environments.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE and cybersecurity standards.
• Create and maintain documentation such as SRS, SDD, design reviews and traceability matrices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Model‑Based Development (Matlab/Simulink).
• Strong knowledge of embedded C/C++ development for real‑time systems.
• Proficiency in automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet).
• Hands‑on experience with vehicle diagnostics standards and tools (UDS, ISO 15765, OBD‑II, Vector CANalyzer/CANoe/CANape).
• Good understanding of AUTOSAR architectures and ASPICE‑compliant development processes.
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
