Model-Based Design Engineer (MBD)

About the role

Join ALTEN Delivery Center Morocco as a Model‑Based Design Engineer, where you will create functional system models for automotive applications using MATLAB/Simulink and support the full development lifecycle from design to validation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop functional models in MATLAB/Simulink following Model‑Based Design principles and build reusable Simulink libraries.
• Generate, compile, and debug C code produced from models, collaborating with integration teams to resolve issues.
• Perform MIL, SIL, and B2B testing, and participate in technical reviews to ensure deliverable quality.
• Review functional specifications, maintain traceability matrices, and ensure requirements are feasible.
• Identify and resolve anomalies in models or embedded code, working with cross‑functional teams on ECU interactions.
• Manage version control using Git/GitHub and produce comprehensive technical documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Systems Engineering.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in model‑based design or embedded software development.
• Very good command of English.

Required skills

• MATLAB and Simulink (including Model Advisor and Design Verifier).
• Git/GitHub for configuration management.
• CANoe/CANalyzer for CAN network simulation.
• C programming for embedded development.
• Knowledge of UDS and OBD protocols (strong asset).
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and MISRA C guidelines.
• Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN and LIN.
