Operations Associate - Field Support

About the role

The Operations Associate – Field Support provides essential assistance for case management and movement operations in the field, ensuring vulnerable individuals receive safe and dignified travel services. Working under the supervision of the AVRR Project Officer and the National Operation Officer, the role combines direct client interaction, airport coordination, and liaison with embassies and IOM partners.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with new applicants requesting IOM assistance and register their data in IOM systems.
• Provide comprehensive airport services, including verification of travel documents, assistance with check‑in, immigration, security screening, customs clearance, and escorting individuals to and from gates.
• Support individuals at IOM offices or third‑party facilities, handling sign‑in, identity verification, orientation, distribution of supplies, briefings, and issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate records by entering and updating data in relevant systems, reporting any concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Correspond with embassies of origin countries to request travel documents and maintain ongoing contact with IOM missions and partners.
• Assist in monitoring vulnerable cases in coordination with direct assistance programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field with at least two years of relevant experience; alternatively, a school diploma with four years of experience.
• Proven experience collaborating with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, or other international institutions.
• Background in migration or protection of vulnerable groups such as trafficking victims, unaccompanied children, or other at‑risk populations.
• Experience in multicultural humanitarian settings is an advantage.
