Part-time Remote Policy Analyst – Africa Focus

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Part‑time Policy Analyst to work remotely on Africa‑focused projects. You will monitor, analyse and interpret policy and regulatory developments across key African markets and turn political and economic trends into actionable intelligence for our stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Track legislative, regulatory and political developments in African countries and assess their impact on investment climates, trade and development finance.
• Produce high‑quality policy briefs and in‑depth reports on public financial management, infrastructure financing, digital economy regulations and energy transition policies.
• Engage with government officials, private‑sector leaders and civil‑society organisations to gather insights and build relationships.
• Provide strategic policy advice to support project development, risk assessment and investment decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in policy analysis, government relations or economic research.
• Experience as a staff member or consultant with African governmental bodies or major international financial institutions (World Bank, IMF, USAID, AfDB, DFC, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of the political economy and policy landscape in at least one major African region (East, West or Southern Africa); experience living and working in the region is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French proficiency is a plus.
