Post-Doc in Multifunctional Hydrogels for Agriculture

About the role

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat-RC) at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) invites applications for two Post-Doctoral Fellow positions on a collaborative project with MIT, supervised by Professor Youssef Habibi. The project develops multifunctional bio-sourced hydrogels for agriculture, converting locally abundant biomass into high-value components combined with fertilizers and/or bio-based additives through sustainable pathways. The successful candidate tests the systems rigorously, works in an interdisciplinary team and travels to the United States for short-term assignments.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in hydrogel formulation, (bio)polymer processing and porous material design, fabrication and characterization.
• Proven experience supervising undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.
• Ability to keep detailed experimental records and write technical reports, research papers and conference presentations.
• Initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary group.
• Good written and spoken English; proven ability to carry out multidisciplinary research and write proposals.
