Post-Doctoral Researcher in AI, Autonomy and Digital Platforms for Drones

About the role

This post‑doctoral position focuses on creating intelligent, autonomous drone systems by combining artificial intelligence, edge computing and digital‑twin technologies. The researcher will design real‑time flight‑control algorithms, AI‑driven data processing pipelines and mission‑management platforms to enable smart UAV demonstrators in industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement real‑time flight control and navigation algorithms using reinforcement learning, computer vision and sensor fusion.
• Build and maintain digital‑twin models for monitoring drone health and mission performance.
• Integrate IoT sensors and edge‑computing modules for real‑time data acquisition and analytics.
• Design and deploy AI‑based data processing and mission management platforms.
• Participate in field trials and validation tests at UM6P and OCP sites.
• Contribute to academic and industrial publications reporting research outcomes.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, embedded systems and IoT architectures.
• Demonstrated interest in applied AI and autonomous systems development.
