Postdoctoral Position in Biomass Conversion and Valorization

About the role

The AgroBioSciences (AgBS) program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to lead and support projects on biomass conversion and valorization. The role is based in the university’s Green City campus in Benguerir and contributes to cutting‑edge research addressing African agricultural challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental studies on biomass conversion pathways.
• Develop and optimize valorization processes for agricultural by‑products.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams covering microbiome, omics, plant physiology, soil science and sustainable farming.
• Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and present at international conferences.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to the scientific community within the AgroBioSciences Center.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in biomass research, preferably with a focus on conversion or valorization.
• Strong publication record and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Experimental design and data analysis for biomass studies.
• Knowledge of microbiome and omics techniques.
• Familiarity with plant physiology and soil science concepts.
