Postdoctoral Researcher – Agricultural Emissions Monitoring

About the role

The African Research Center on Air Quality and Climate (ARC_AIR) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a postdoctoral researcher to lead the estimation of agricultural emissions across Africa. The role combines satellite remote sensing, atmospheric chemistry modeling, and physics‑informed deep learning to quantify cropland emissions of NH3, N2O, CO2, and CH4.

Key responsibilities

• Run atmospheric chemistry simulations to support emission estimates.
• Develop and train deep learning models for predicting agricultural emissions.
• Participate in field campaigns across multiple African sites for model validation.
• Publish research findings in high‑impact scientific journals.
• Contribute to interactive data‑visualization platforms for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in atmospheric modeling, satellite remote sensing, or machine‑learning research.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in programming with Python or R.
